National Archives Seeks Citizen Archivists
The National Archives and Records Administration of the United States is seeking individuals to help make its records accessible online. The National Archives recently launched the Citizen Archivist Dashboard which links to several online projects that require public participation.
Volunteers can transcribe historic records; contribute to the Archives Wiki; tag images and records; and upload and share digital images of National Archives documents scanned or photographed in its research rooms across the country. Details and instructions are provided for each online project.
If you have a home computer and would like to become a Citizen Archivist, visit the Web site at http://www.archives.gov/citizen-archivist/.
