    The Special Collections Division houses the genealogy and local history materials of the Akron-Summit County Public Library. Our goal is to collect, preserve, and provide access to the history of Summit County, and to continue to maintain one of the area’s most extensive genealogy collections.

Akron Symphony Orchestra Titanic Program Tonight

Join us at 6 pm this evening in the Main Library auditorium for Tour of Titanic.  Akron Symphony Orchestra Music Director Christopher Wilkins and Stage Director Craig Joseph will present a lively discussion of the people, history and music of Titanic, along with musical selections performed by cast members from the Broadway hit, Titanic.   This program will be repeated tomorrow, April 11 at 1 pm at our Tallmadge Branch. Both programs are free and open to the public.

 Tickets are still available for the Akron Symphony Orchestra’s fully-staged musical performance of  Titanic at the Akron Civic Theatre on Saturday, April 14, exactly 100 years after the sinking of the shipClick here for more information.
