Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours) including evening and weekend hours as needed; not job-share eligible
Salary: Grade 12, $21.87/hr.
Maintains all aspects of the Library's social media presence, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. Creates (e.g. writes and photographs) and distributes content across social media platforms to support the Library’s mission and goals; promotes and advocates for the Library by engaging with social media users to increase public awareness and interest in Library programs and services; develops strategies to increase the Library‘s presence, following and engagement on social media; facilitates the Library’s social media advisory team; assists the marketing department in related marketing tasks, including writing emails, electronic newsletters and other digital marketing tools. Performs other tasks as assigned.
Demonstrated experience with the following: writing on social media platforms, including creating dynamic and engaging content; developing and implementing social media strategies and researching trends; posting with social media management platforms and formatting for desktop and mobile devices; and using social media management software. Proven editing skills including the knowledge of grammatical rules and the ability to proofread own writing. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field or equivalent combination of related coursework and work experience. Three to five years of work experience using social media platforms preferred. Previous customer service experience a plus.
