Mind, Body & Sole

A reading/wellness experience for the whole family to enjoy. For decades, the Akron-Summit Count Public Library’s annual reading program has made summer reading fun in all of our Library locations.

After School Snack Program

During the winter and spring of 2014, the Akron-Summit County Public Library, with the support of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, provided healthy after-school snacks (for patrons 18 and younger) at the Highland Square and Odom Branch Libraries.

Library Recieves Grant

The Library has received a grant from the Knight Foundation to create a Micro Business Center at Main Library. The Microbusiness/Co-working Center will have individual work spaces, room for small meetings, and be outfitted with a variety of equipment and resources for creativity and innovation. The Library anticipates the space will be open for operation late-2015 / early 2016.

Library and the Arts

The Library will participate in two different art projects in 2015. First is the Inside/Out initiative of the Akron Art Museum, which will see reproductions of pieces from the museum’s collection temporarily placed in interesting and perhaps surprising outside locations in the community.

What is Wowbrary

It is a service that sends weekly email alerts about new titles being added to the Library collection. Subscribe to the newsletter and you will receive an email every Saturday morning featuring information on all the requestable items that we added to the collection within the week.
