    The Special Collections Division houses the genealogy and local history materials of the Akron-Summit County Public Library. Our goal is to collect, preserve, and provide access to the history of Summit County, and to continue to maintain one of the area’s most extensive genealogy collections.

Branching Out: Second Steps in Genealogy Research

A more detailed continuation of Getting Started in Family History, this class is geared toward those who have already taken Getting Started or have done some research on their own. Participants will learn what to expect when working with vital records and obituaries, and basic search strategies for finding them in both online and traditional sources. This workshop meets in Meeting Room 2AB on the High Street level of Main Library.
