View the Solar Eclipse at Main Library

Join in celebrating this unusual astronomical event as we watch the skies darken.

On Monday, August 21, 2017, all of North America will be treated to an eclipse of the sun; the first in the continental US in 38 years.   Even a partial eclipse, like we will have in this area, is one of nature’s most awe inspiring sights. A partial solar eclipse is when the moon covers part of the sun's disk.

We will hold the eclipse event in the Library Park at Main Library.  Join us Monday, August 21 from 12-4 pm. We have special eclipse glasses.

12-1 pm - Eclipse information, safety discussion, and eclipse glasses distribution.

1:07 pm - Eclipse begins.

2:31 pm - Eclipse reaches maximum coverage.

3:52 pm - Eclipse ends.
